What are the Best Quality Dates to Eat?
Dates need warm climate with little to no rain conditions. The Middle East is by far has the most favorable climatic conditions for dates to grow followed by California, Arizona, and Florida. There are over 1500 varieties of dates grown in the world.
Medjool Dates

One of the most popular dates that are large, soft and one of the most flavourful dates among all different varieties grown. They taste excellent when eaten fresh because of their high moisture content. Medjool Dates stays good for 12-15 days at room temperature.
Medjool dates were first found in Morocco, North Africa and were brought to Nevada, the USA in the year 1927.
Deri Dates

These are soft, sweet, and meaty dates that look like chocolate beans. It has darkish brown to black color of skin and is available around the year. The origin of the Deri dates is in Iraq. The fruit has a shelf life of 10 months.
Ajwa Dates

These dates are a God gift to mankind. Ajwa dates seed powder is used in treating the cholesterol and blocked heart arteries issues. The paste prevents and cures heart diseases. Ajwa dates are a soft and dry variety of dates from Saudi Arabia.
Kimia Dates

These dates originated in Iran. China took these palm trees and cultivated them during the end of the ninth century. Kimia dates are black plump dates that have a melt-in-mouth flavor. The shelf life is about 15 days.
Omani Dates

As the name suggests, these dates originate in Oman, Middle East. Every date lover loves Oman dates. These are plump dates, large in size, moist and is used in many cooking and baking recipes. Many people use them in the dry fruits gift hampers.
Whiles dates have multiple benefits and help in reducing weight if eaten in moderation, otherwise, they may increase the weight because of high sugar content in them. Eating about 10 grams of dates will provide you around 23 calories and fiber. Word of caution for people who have sugar problems, they should avoid eating dates or at lease consult their doctors first before consuming dates.

Try Medjool Dates.
My favourite dates are Medjool; I used to really enjoy the Iranian dates but will not buy the only ones available here: Israeli Medjool.
Meanwhile Tunisian deglet Noor are a substitute.
Moisture content is comparatively low but khudri and mabroom dates are delicious too

As a health concern person i prefer dates as only sugary food accept fruits, but i want to know is there any bad effect for which i should maintain the amount of my intake or is date really healthy? i like it but i am confused that i should keep it in my diet or exclude it for my well being .now i am eating amber dates is it okay? which breed of date will be best for me?

What about Mazafati?
Mazafati has high moisture content. The date is suited for fresh consumption, i.e., not dried.
what about Tunisian dates ” deglet enour”
In my experience, it was difficult to store Tunisian dates for long because of high moisture content. Taste-wise they were amazing.
