Vegetarian Cheese Pizza Rolls
Veggie Cheese Pizza Rolls, also known as Vegetarian Pizza Scrolls or Veggie Pizza scrolls is easy to make American delicacy. These are also known as Pizza Poppers in some parts of America and are one of the famous frozen snack foods. These Pizza Poppers will change the way you love your bread so far. You will not be able to resist eating, once you taste them.

25 July 2016 India won the test match from West Indies on their home ground. The home audience which was glued to the television thus far, was now excited and wanted to celebrate. As usual, they turned to me and said “kuch bhadiya sa banao.. celebrate karenge” (make good food to celebrate).
Different people, different choices. My son demanded for Stuffed Dinner Rolls. My husband requested me to make either Focaccia Bread or Spicy Semolina Cake. However, to bring more delight to the celebration mood, I wanted to do something different. And, I treated them with Cheesy Pizza Rolls. I used garlic to flavor the bread. When my homemade pizza rolls were in the oven and getting baked, the aroma of garlic and bread, in the kitchen was attracting everyone nearby. The family which was not leaving the TV room were now in the kitchen.
This easy to make cheese pizza rolls recipe is going to be little high on calories, approx. 350 per serving, but few cheat days are acceptable. Isn’t it?
I kept the bread in an oven for 35 minutes. Those who prefer a crisper crust may bake the Pizza Rolls for another 5 minutes.
|All Purpose Flour||300 gm|
|Instant Yeast||1 tsp|
|Luke Warm Water||180 ml|
|Oil/ Butter||2 tbs|
|Pizza Sauce||2 tbs|
|Chilli Flakes||1 tsp|
|Garlic Powder||2 tbs|
|Grated Cheese||3 tbs|
|Calories per Serving||139.5|
To make stuffing
Mix melted butter, garlic powder, chili flakes, and oregano in a bowl.
To make rolls
In a bowl, mix sugar and yeast with lukewarm water. Keep it aside until yeast froths.
In a mixing bowl, take flour, salt, oil and yeast solution. Start kneading the dough by adding water to it.
Initially the dough will be sticky. Take this dough out on a dusted surface and keep kneading for 10 minutes. You will get soft, smooth and non-sticky dough. Now place this dough into a greased bowl and cover it with cling wrap. Let it rest until it doubles in volume.
Once dough doubles in volume, take it out on floured surface and punch it to release the air.
Roll the punched dough into a sheet of approx. ½” thickness.
Spread the prepared stuffing evenly.
Spread the Pizza sauce and grated cheese evenly on the sheet.
Now carefully and with soft hands start rolling the sheet into a cylindrical shape.
Once the roll is ready, cut the roll into small pieces of 1” in size. Remember not to apply too much of pressure on the dough roll, otherwise, the shape of the cutouts will not look good.
Place these cut pieces into a greased pan by leaving some gap in between.
Cover the pan and keep it for a second proofing till the piece doubles in the volume. It will take approx. 30-40 minutes.
Preheat the oven at 200 °C for 10 min.
Place the pan into the oven and bake it for 20 min at 200 °C.
After 20 minutes the mouth-watering bread is ready. It’s time to serve the cheese Pizza rolls.
