  • Gluten Free Energy Balls recipe with Dates | Fireless Energy Balls Recipe

Enough of savory food recently after I made savory semolina muffins, pull apart bread, buttermilk bread, and aloo tikki burger. I was already in between making Pita bread, but really wanted something sweet to eat.

I didn’t have enough time to bake so prepared no bake energy balls. Damn, I needed the energy so badly. These no bake energy balls are naturally sweet and are a quick source of energy.

After every meal, my ladoo needs something sweet. That is like too much sugar every time he picks a muffin or chocolate. So I thought of making ladoo, for my ladoo. Something that is sugar-free and still sweet. Made these no-bake energy balls. These are completely gluten-free energy balls. Because the ingredients of these energy balls do not call for any dairy/animal product, you can call them vegan energy balls.

Few other term them as protein balls as the protein intake from these energy bites are high. Almonds, Pistachios, cashews, and walnuts have high protein level that makes our no bake date energy balls rich in proteins. The dates in date energy balls bring sweetness and act as binding agents for all the nuts.

Healthy snack balls with dates

I am really fond of dates. My love for dates is clearly visible in my signature coffee date cake recipe. I always keep dates at home and eat them on a daily basis. But when I ask my child to eat them, considering them to be really healthy, my kid will never eat them.

This no bake energy balls with dates are my alternate to make him eat all the nuts and dates together. When he was out for school, I quickly made it before he came back. As usual, after he finished his lunch, he started looking for something sweet to eat.

I told him that I have made ladoos for him, he was super excited. Opened the box and ate it. Loved it and ate two more. I then asked if he can guess what the ingredients are? He kept guessing for about 2 minutes and guessed all the nuts.

But when he realized that the dark looking ingredient in the energy balls is delicious dates, he was surprised. He was like, wow dates taste so good.

He has saved this recipe in his mind. The next time he will have cooking without fire competition in his school, he is going to make this recipe.

I have curated the list of recommended tools and ingredients for baking. I recommend only tried and tested products that have given satisfactory results in my kitchen.

Date energy balls recipe

The recipe is fairly simple and quick. All you need is all different types of nuts that you like your kids and family to eat. Don’t worry if they typically don’t eat a particular nut. In combination, they won’t even realize it. Crush/chop all the nuts together, make dates puree and combine them together. Your no bake energy balls are ready. It’s that simple.

Over to detailed recipe now.

No Bake Energy Balls

Gluten Free Energy Balls recipe with Dates Ingredients

In a jar take all the nuts except dates and grind them.

Nuts

I personally like chunks of dry fruits so I didn’t powder them.

Powdered Nuts

Now take dates in a jar and grind the dates.

Dates

Mix crushed dates and ground nuts well.

Mixture

In case you feel the mixture is tough to bind then you can add 1 tsp of honey to it. But my mixture was perfect in texture and was easy to roll. Now prepare small size balls from the prepared mixture. I got 20 protein balls with this measurement.
