Homemade Pizza Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 cup Tomato Diced
  • 1/2 cup Onion Diced
  • 1/2 cup Bell Pepper Puree Roasted
  • 1 tbs garlic Minced
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 1 tsp Oregano Dry
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbs Brown Sugar

Instructions

  • To roast the bell pepper, wash it and roast it on a gas stove. Once done, immediately put it into a bowl of cold water and rub it to remove the burnt skin.
  • To make the sauce, heat oil in a pan. Add minced garlic and sauté for 5 seconds.
  • Add chopped onion, tomatoes, basil, and roasted bell pepper puree. And add all the dry spices mentioned in the ingredient list.
  • Stir everything, cover the pan with a lid and let it cook on medium flame for 5 minutes.
  • After 5 minutes, open the lid. Check the seasoning and adjust accordingly.
  • Switch off the flame and using a hand blender, blend everything to a smooth sauce.
  • Bring it to room temperature and transfer it to a sterilized glass jar.
  • Our pizza sauce is ready.

Notes

  1. If fresh basil is not available at your place, you can add dry basils too.
  2. You can replace olive oil with any regular cooking oil. However, using olive oil will enhance the taste.
  3. Few people don’t like the flavor of garlic. You may skip it.
  4. All the ingredients are given with measurements. All the possible substitutes are also mentioned. Apart from that, any other change will change the final outcome.  You can try at your own risk.
