Homemade Condensed Milk

- 500 ml Full-Fat Milk
- 1 cup Cane Sugar Raw
- 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
First, take a heavy bottom pan. Pour milk and sugar to it.
Start boiling milk and keep stirring.
After one boil, reduce the flame to medium-low heat and let the milk boil until it reduces to half. It would take approximately 20-25 minutes. Keep stirring in-between.
Once it reduces to half, switch off the flame. Let it rest for 5 min.
Now add baking soda and using a whisker whisk it immediately.
Let it cool completely.
Transfer the prepared condensed milk to clean glass jar and store in the refrigerator.
It stays good up to three months.
- You can use any Nut Milk instead of Regular milk to make a vegan version.
- You can use coconut sugar/maple syrup/ honey or other natural sugars instead of sugar.
- The substitute you use needs to be able to caramelize. Stevia, xylitol will not caramelize so will not work in this recipe.
