The first light of the sun peeked through my window in Pune, nudging me awake. It was going to be a day unlike any other, and I felt it right away.
It started off with what seemed like just another buzz from my phone, but turned out to be a game-changer - an invite to the IFBA award event, the kind of thing anyone in the food world dreams about. And now, here it was, calling out to me.
A Dawn of Opportunities: The Call from IFBA
I was buzzing with excitement, thinking about rubbing shoulders with the culinary giants and fellow bloggers I've admired from a distance. This was more than just an event; it was a gathering of passion, a celebration of the art that I've poured my heart and soul into.
But underneath all that excitement, there was this little nagging worry. Amit, my husband, gave me this look - you know, the kind where he's proud but also a bit worried. I've been dealing with vertigo, an uninvited guest in my life, and it always seems to be lurking around.
Thankfully, Amit's always been my rock, and he didn't let me down this time either.
Feeling hopeful, I reached out to Saloni, the brain behind the event. She said yes to Amit coming along, and I couldn't be more relieved. Having him by my side isn't just comforting; he's like my anchor when my world starts spinning out of control.
The Journey to Mumbai: Challenges and Anticipation
The day was a whirlwind of activity. We set off from Pune to Mumbai's buzzing BKC for the event. It was a day crammed with amazing encounters, taste-testing all sorts of goodies, and endless chats about our love for baking.
But as the day wore on, so did I, a silent reminder of the vertigo I keep pushing to the back of my mind.
As evening rolled in, we got to the main event, the award ceremony. The air was electric with excitement and a sense of togetherness. There I was, standing among these incredibly talented folks whose work I've looked up to. It felt unreal.
Celebrating Success: Awards Night and Beyond
Then came the moment that totally caught me off guard - my blog won the 'Best Baking Blog' award. I was swamped with emotions as I walked up to the stage. Holding that award, I felt like all those late nights, kitchen experiments, and the struggle to keep my passion alive despite my health issues, were finally being acknowledged.

But wait, there was more. My name was called out again, this time for the 'Best Facebook Group/Page.' I was over the moon as I picked up the second award, feeling so thankful for everyone who's been a part of my journey.
As the night ended, I left with more than just awards. I took home unforgettable memories, the warmth of new friendships, and a heart full of gratitude for a community that welcomed me, vertigo and all.
That day at the IFBA awards was more than just a pat on the back for my work; it was a celebration of my entire journey, a nod to overcoming hurdles, and a reminder of the love and support that make every victory in life all the more sweet.
